This privacy policy is designed to help you understand how we collect and use the personal information you provide when using our platform.

This privacy policy explains:

how we use the information you provide;
occasions when we may need to share information;
how to contact us if you have questions.

Here are our privacy guidelines:

we do not ask you to provide personal information unless we really need it;
we do not store your personal information for longer than necessary to provide you with our services;
we do not share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, provide our services, or protect our rights.
we do not rent, sell or trade your personal information;
we strive to make it as easy as possible for you to control what is displayed publicly, viewed by search engines, remains private, and is permanently deleted.

1. What are ExtraLessons Platform?

ExtraLessons Platform is a learning platform (“we”, “our”, “us”) where students and teachers interact with each other to improve the quality and ease of education. Parents, students, teachers, experts and other people who use our platform or create an account (“you”, “your”, “user”) are required to comply with this Privacy Policy.

Here are some examples of the security and privacy measures on ExtraLessons Platform:

behavioral targeting advertising is prohibited
students can join the ExtraLessons Platform by providing a minimum set of information about themselves;
the platform does not provide direct messaging between students;
active content filters and reactive reporting tools are applied to tests.

2. What data does ExtraLessons Platform collect?

We collect the following personal data about you:

Information you provide to us directly. We may collect personal information such as your full name, email address and password that you provide directly to ExtraLessons Platform when using the platform.
User Content. We collect content that you post or otherwise upload to our Platform. User Content refers to content of any format that you post on our Platform, including files that you send in messages.
Messages. We collect all text messages sent as part of communications with other users, comments on materials and users sent to us as a complaint, as well as your communications to the S_A&O as feedback or suggestions for improving our Platform.

3. How does ExtraLessons Platform use tour data?

The ExtraLessons Platform uses your data in the following ways:

When you register a user account to use our Platform. We use necessary information about you when you register for a user account. Access to all features and activities on ExtraLessons Platform is only possible if you are a registered user. We also use your information to verify your identity. Please think carefully about the username you choose when creating your account, as it will be visible to other users (you can change it later in the Profile section).
When we share information related to your use of our Platform. We use your contact information (email address) to contact you with important information related to the use or operation of our Platform regarding your user account or User Content (including regarding its security). We also notify you when we add new material to courses you're interested in or when you make progress, if you've given us permission to do so in your Profile.
When processing complaints or requests to exercise your rights. We use your information to process complaints, respond to complaints, take action to resolve a conflict, or request exercise of your rights.
When dealing with inappropriate behavior and ensuring safety. We investigate information about the operation and use of our Platform to verify users and accounts, improve security, and combat inappropriate behavior, spam, or fraud. However, we ensure that our Platform is used in accordance with our Terms and Conditions and does not contain harmful or inappropriate content.

4. To whom does ExtraLessons Platform disclose your information?

The ExtraLessons Platform may disclose your data in the following cases:

Users of the ExtraLessons Platform. User Content uploaded to our Platform, as well as your profile information, is freely available to a limited number of users (those you invite to the course). This means that any user registered and invited to a course can have access to the User Content that you provide to our Platform.
Subcontractors. We use subcontractors to process and store information. These may include hosting providers, service providers that provide the functionality of our Platform, claims adjusters (including insurers), and legal consultants. All subcontractors process personal data under contracts with S_A&O and only in accordance with our instructions and their legal obligations.
Compliance with laws, protection of S_A&O, the ExtraLessons Platform and its users. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is permitted by this Privacy Policy or is reasonably necessary and appropriate for any of the following reasons:

comply with applicable legal, regulatory or judicial requests or orders;
enforcing this Privacy Policy or other agreements with you, including investigating potential violations;
responding to claims that content on our Platform violates the rights of third parties;
responding to your customer service requests;
protect the rights, property or personal safety of S_A&O, our agents and partners, and the public. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations to prevent fraud, spam, and the spread of malware.

Other Lawful Disclosures. After providing notice to you and obtaining your consent, if applicable and permitted by law, we may make other disclosures of your information.

5. How long and on what basis does ExtraLessons Platform store your personal data?

We store your personal data for different periods of time depending on the purpose of processing:

Storage. We store personal data and user content uploaded to the ExtraLessons Platform for as long as it can serve the purposes for which it was collected. When determining the retention period for information, we take into account applicable legal requirements and our legitimate interests. For example, we will store any personal information you provide to us for as long as you have an account on our Platform.
Based on legitimate interest (ours or a third party). In many cases, we process personal data based on legitimate interests, such as to fulfill customer service requests, market our services to you, protect our users, personnel and property, and analyze and improve the Platform.
In accordance with legal requirements. We use and disclose personal information in certain ways to comply with our legal obligations.
Based on your consent. In some other cases, we process personal data based on consent.

6. What are your rights?

Subject to all applicable laws, we give you the opportunity to exercise some or all of the following rights with respect to our collection, use and sharing of your personal data:

access to the personal data we hold about you;
updating and correcting any inaccuracies or incompleteness of personal data about you;
deletion of your personal data;
object to the processing of your personal data (in this case, your user account will be erased from our Platform);
a request to receive personal information you have previously provided, allowing you to transfer that personal information to another company at your discretion;
lodging a complaint directly with the relevant authority about how we process your personal data.

7. Note to parents

S_A&O does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 unless it has obtained appropriate parental consent for your child's use of our Platform.

Please contact us at sao.apps.dev@gmail.com or extra.lessons.app@gmail.com if you believe that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child without adequate consent as required by your jurisdiction so that we can delete such personal data as appropriate.

8. Managing your personal data

Manage your data as follows:

Profile. You can change your profile information such as password, full name and icon, and delete your user account in the Profile section.
Access to device information. You can control the mobile app's access to information about your device using your device's Settings. For example, you can revoke an app's permission to access file storage (note that without permission, you won't be able to upload content to your courses).
Communication settings. You can opt out of receiving promotional emails from us in the "Profile" section. You may not opt out of Platform-related communications (such as account verification, payment communications, changes/updates to our Platform, technical and security notices).
